Manager of Communications: Maternity Care Coalition, Phila/Delaw/Montgo Counties

Maternity Care Coalition (MCC), a dynamic nonprofit, works to improve maternal and child health and wellbeing through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities.

MCC seeks an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Manager of Communications in the Fund Development & Marketing (FDM) Department. This position will develop and launch community outreach and marketing strategy for MCC, raising awareness of MCC’s work, accomplishments and requirements for ongoing support. The position will develop media and advocacy materials and contacts that align with MCC’s strategic planning, support programs that need assistance in community outreach planning and marketing materials, and assist in planning special events that will engage the media and new volunteers and donors in the work of MCC.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 year project management and related work experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required (degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field preferred.) Alongside excellent presentation, writing and communication skills, the candidate requires the ability to write and edit news, promotional and technical releases and copy; strong understanding of social media channels and experience using these channels for online marketing campaigns; Microsoft Office and database skills; familiarity with WordPress and Constant Contact; and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong interest in early childhood learning and related issues strongly encouraged.
