Manager – Training & Development – Recovery Institute: Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania

This position leads and manages the design, development and delivery of the Institute’s training products and services, including the day-to-day supervision of training staff. Up to 50% travel.



  • Master’s degree in Learning & Development or related field
  • 8 years plus experience running a contemporary learning and development department and managing professional staff
  • Instructional design and consulting expertise; experience using online learning technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders
  • Experience establishing design, delivery and training operations processes including selecting and implementing learning management systems
  • Able to plan and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Experience and knowledge of Behavioral Health systems and recovery
  • Up to 50% travel
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, email, time sheet management, electronic health records, using Microsoft Office Applications, ADP and other relevant software.
  • Must have basic electronic communication and internet skills.
  • Must be able to use new computer systems and/or software functions as they become available.
  • WRAP Certification a plus as well as CPRP and CPS


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment and to do some light lifting up to 25 lbs., climb steps, and walk around to multiple MHASP locations. Ability to stand while training for a full day several days in a row.
