Clinical Manager: Northern Children’s Services

The STS Clinical Manager is responsible for assuring high quality in all phases of the program, including the initial authorization and reauthorization process, the treatment planning process, and program processes.

Specific responsibilities include:

Monitoring

  • Assures the program is in compliance with governing regulations.
  • Monitors and manages client authorizations and insures that there are no gaps in treatment.
  • Ensures timely completion of progress notes and chart corrections for BHW,Lead Clinician, BSC and MT Staff.
  • Monitors provision of services to insure that all clients receive the maximum number of authorized services weekly.

Supervision

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to Clinicians, BHW staff, MT,BSC,and works collaboratively with the Case Manager.
  • Assures the STS staff receive training necessary to accomplish departmental

tasks and objectives.

  • Provides support to staff where needed including filling in when understaffed
  • in any positions(BHW, Clinicians etc.)
  • Interviews, hires, and trains Clinicians, and BHWs and Mobile Therapist.

Direct Care

  • Completes assessments on all new clients.
  • Provides individual and group therapy to clients when necessary to insure provision of all authorized services.
  • Writes treatment plans for all clients receiving treatment from a consultant as needed.
  • Completes discharge paperwork for discharged consumers within a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum Requirement – Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health discipline.

Experience:

At least three (3) years experience in health, social service organizations.

At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Excellent working knowledge of clinical issues relating to children, adolescents or families.

Working knowledge of managed care principles.

Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to communicate and interact with all staff. Ability to give clear and concise oral and written instructions.Working knowledge of the Behavioral Health system.
