Education Program Associate: Career Wardrobe

Career Wardrobe is a Philadelphia-based social enterprise organization that uses clothing and professional development to empower women to work. In the past 20 years, we have assisted over 80,000 women on their journeys to work.

We are seeking a Program Associate who will assist with our expanding education program which provides professional development seminars, job search workshops, resume review and special events to men and women who are transitioning to employment.

The ideal candidate will have a background in adult education or job coaching with vulnerable populations including those transitioning off public assistance or long-term unemployment, re-entering the community after incarceration or pregnant and/or parenting high school students. Candidates must be able to pass FBI Clearance, PA Criminal Background and PA Child Abuse Clearance due to grant funding requirements.

Education & Training Duties:

  • Conduct and coordinate both on-site and off-site job readiness and job search workshops to motivate participants and help them develop the skills needed to secure employment:
    • Gateway to Success Professional Development Curriculum: Time Management, Interview Skills, Networking, Professional Etiquette, Employer Expectations, Difficult Conversations, Technology, Public Speaking and Financial Literacy.
    • Blitz Basics Job Search Workshops: Resume review (utilizing volunteers), job search best practices and interviewing skills.
    • Special Client Events: Work It Networking Event with LinkedIn profile creation, Smart & Sexy Day focusing on body image and professional confidence.
  • Analyze and improve customer service and workshop delivery by identifying areas that require improvement and working with program manager to implement enhancements.
  • Travel to partner locations within Philadelphia to deliver workshops.

Management & Administration Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining and updating Salesforce database for tracking participation.
    • Maintain location files, prepare and submit feedback documents as required.
    • Work collaboratively with program manager to ensure delivery of successful workshops, including updating curriculum as needed.


  • College degree preferred with previous education and training experience required.
  • Ability to pass a FBI Clearance, PA Criminal Background and PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • Ability to navigate throughout the city either via public transportation or private vehicle.
  • Motivated and passionate about leading workshops to a diverse range of people including high school students, adult learners and the long term unemployed.
  • Willing to think outside of the box to bring relevant examples and activities to workshop curriculum.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Engaging and outgoing personality.
  • Previous volunteer management experience desired.
