Marketing Director: Simpatico Theatre Project

MARKETING DIRECTOR Simpatico is seeking a candidate with experience in the field and/or formal training through an arts admin program. Paid, Part-time, Leadership Position with room for advancement. Includes Marketing, Press/Public Relations, and aspects of Audience Services and Group Sales. Required weekly hours are largely flexible. A creative and collaborative philosophy is greatly appreciated.MARKETING DUTIES

  • Develop and maintain marketing campaigns for the company, each season and each production
  • Develop, maintain, and further the Simpatico brand, its public profile, and its reach
  • Create and maintain marketing schedule (i.e. constant contact e-mail blasts, ad campaigns)
  • Establish and follow marketing budget for each season and each production
  • Write and distribute press releases
  • Manage social media content (including Facebook, twitter, instagram and our blog)
  • Maintain press contact database
  • Pitch stories to local news outlets
  • Coordinate stories with reporters and artists/designers
  • Manage online listings
  • Act as the liaison between Simpatico and press contacts: handling photo requests, opening night invitations/rsvps
  • Act as the liaison between Simpatico and other theatres and partnership organizations: handling promotional exchanges
  • Help coordinate design and distribution of marketing materials
  • Track effectiveness of marketing campaigns and compile analytics
  • Generate reports as needed on effectiveness for Board meetings
  • Manage ad sales for our programs
  • Track all press coverage for all productions

AUDIENCES SERVICES

  • Help generate and develop group sales, outreach groups, and special interest groups – spearheading audience development research through targeted marketing techniques and audience surveys
  • Help coordinate Opening Night and Special Event RSVPs
  • Help coordinate and maintain mailing lists

GENERAL

  • Participate in Full Company projects, work calls, meetings, and events
  • Participate in the effective collaboration of the company, keeping in mind the overall principles of a safe, respectful, enriching, and creative experience for all members
  • Undertake any duties, relevant to the post of Marketing Director, that may arise from time to time

Education Level: College. Degree in Marketing, Arts Admin, Business, or Theatre a plus. Equivalent experience in the field will be considered.
