Program Manager: Business Association of West Parkside

Job Description:

The Business Association of West Parkside (BAWP) is a non-profit membership organization that has been a leader working with the community to promote economic development and business growth. It is a network of 60+ businesses that collaborate between business, community, and government. BAWP is seeking an entrepreneurial spirit that wishes to be a part of their growing enterprise in the exciting Parkside community. This position will work closely with the Board to enact their vision for BAWP. This includes participating and planning, meetings and events while enacting administrative duties.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience preferred; Associate degree or minimum of three years’ relevant work experience required
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Background with word processing, database, and other technical skills: experience with Microsoft office, WordPress, monkey survey, mail chimp and twitter a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; including demonstrated skills in writing, editing, proofreading
  • Initiative, motivation, and ability to meet deadline; work efficiently in a busy environment with minimal supervision

Duties & Responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Answer telephones, and route calls and messages appropriately
  • Compose, edit, and produce draft and finished correspondence, documents, minutes, reports, announcements, etc.
  • Coordinate and update database and email/mail distribution lists
  • Update and maintain website
  • Keep BAWP records in order
  • Track and document donations and acknowledge donors
  • Work with subcontractors for contracts on local maintenance and cleanings
  • Set up and clean up for BAWP meetings
  • Attend meetings as needed or directed by Board

Board Support:

  • Implement the requests of the Board
  • Work with Committee Chairs
  • Work with President to create agendas for meetings
  • Meet with Treasurer and book keeper to review budget
  • Keep Board informed of local correspondence and news
  • Plan BAWP Annual events with Board

BAWP Membership Support:

  • Outreach and promote membership
  • Communicate with members and prospective members
  • Respond to general requests for information from BAWP members and make appropriate referrals
  • Provide support for BAWP members, offer referrals, do research, and participate in advocating for the members
  • Coordinate membership forms, maintain database of all new and old members. Keep an updated directory of membership
  • Prepare agendas, send out reminders and contact speakers or officials for meetings

Part-Time/ Flexible Hours/ 20 hours a week. Will be required to work some nights and weekends
