Director, Operations: Please Touch Museum

Please Touch Museum (PTM) seeks a Director, Operations is responsible for overseeing all PTM’S operational capacities of daily operation including but not limited to: facility oversight, emergency procedures, inventory, custodial, receiving & shipping, grounds keeping, security and transportation. The Director will also perform and supervise preventative maintenance related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, safety, custodial and events coordination. The Director will manage a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the Museum. Tracking capital expenditures and oversight contracts for services, maintenance and equipment requests.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to: Works with CFO, developing strategies for long term sustainability of the operations; review and ensure departmental standards and procedures; regularly inspect the Museum facility; continually explore and implement process improvement measures; provide input to capital improvement project plan; coordinates special projects, such as, construction, remodeling or expansion; plans and direct outside vendors/contractors; services as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work; ensures overall cleanliness and functionality, upkeep and appearance of museum properties; works with CFO, developing strategies for long term sustainability of the operations; develops programs to train all employees on Fire/Life Safety Emergency and OSHA Procedures; ensure all fire, health and life safety regulations are being followed as mandated by OSHA; directs, supervises and schedules all aspects of Operation; develop and maintain work-order system; responsible for managing staff; budgetary responsibilities; develops, implements and maintains short and long term planning for facility infrastructure, e.g. HVAC, building ; and assist in preparing and negotiating Service Agreements

Minimum Requirements:  Eight plus years of strong management experience in areas of project management, facilities operations, capital planning, safety and emergency preparedness programs and operations; broad knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural maintenance including building regulations and code requirements; strong understanding of building mechanical systems; minimum of 2 years of managing in a similar facility (preferably Museum setting) engineering certification preferred; demonstrates excellent management skills; excellent Microsoft suite including word, exce; working knowledge of HVAC and other mechanical and electrical systems required; demonstrate the ability to proper draft and complete RFP’s; excellent knowledge of building systems; able to read and review blueprints; able to manage multiple, time-bound projects; demonstrates excellent organization skills;strong communication and interpersonal skills, team player and experience in training staff on new operational procedures
