Senior Project Manager: Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Planning and Evaluation in informing the goals and strategies of the Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) and its partners to support the implementation of the citywide anti-poverty plan. This will include management of the Shared Prosperity Working Groups and other external partners, best practice research and strategy development, data analysis, program evaluation, and the development of annual and interim reports. The position will report to the Director of Planning and Evaluation.

The Senior Project Manager will be expected to promote high ethical conduct, effectiveness, and inclusion throughout the organization, and preserve CEO’s positive reputation with external partners, City departments, and stakeholder groups. The ideal candidate should also possess an ability to provide leadership that creates and promotes a positive and supportive work environment, and values diversity of thought, backgrounds and perspectives.

Qualifications of an ideal candidate: Careful attention to detail; ability to create realistic action plans; ability to anticipate and meet deadlines; creativity and motivation; and the ability to work both alone and in a team setting. Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and comfort using technology and teaching others are essential. Experience in statistical techniques is a plus.

Other requirements include: Three years prior experience and Master’s Degree in related field (e.g., City Planning, Urban Studies, Public Administration, Social Policy, Political Science, etc.); or Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years’ prior experience.

Must establish residency in the City of Philadelphia within 6 months of employment; must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; must be able to work evening and weekend hours, as required.
