Field Education Office Program Coordinator & Communications Specialist: Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Provides primary administrative and program coordination support to the Field Education Office, program coordination and support to the Center for Child and Family Wellbeing, and communications support to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR).

For the Office of Field Education (80% time):

Under the Direction of the Director of Field Education, the position provides primary administrative support to the Field Education Director, Assistant Director, and Field Liaisons and acts as Field Education informational resource to the GSSWSR community: students, faculty, and staff. This includes managing projects, facilitating confidential communication, and initiating problem solving activities. Acts as informational resource to regional social work community including external constituencies.  Assists Field Education Office in overseeing an information system that is fully on-line. Identifies and implements efficient systems for data management. Carries out event planning. Provides oversight for student worker(s) when deployed to the Field Education Office.

For the Center for Child and Family Wellbeing (15% time):

Under the direction of the Director of the Center for Child and Family Well-being (CFWB) at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, assist in administering the program. Individual is responsible for the planning, facilitation, and support of all events associated to the Center. This includes database management, maintenance of program website, session and event logistics, and administrative support for the CFWB Jr. Fellowship program.

For Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) (5% time):

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Administration, acts as GSSWSR Web Editor: Maintains School web pages and on-line news feed; Collaborates with College’s I.T. & web staff to ensure School’s site is using current features, technology, and design; Collaborates with College Communications Office regarding School’s communication/marketing efforts Serves as School’s representative on College’s Communications Working Group, and Consults with the Dean of the GSSWSR to provide on-line support for School’s faculty and special events.

Requirements: Administrative support in academic environment. Strong writing and editing skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Advanced organization skills with the ability to multi-task in an extremely busy office environment. Able to professionally engage with a wide variety of School, College and community members to ensure quality service. High level of competency in Microsoft Office Suite, excel, database software, and web applications.  Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word (including the ability to use mail merge and create event flyers)
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft or another enterprise system
  • Familiarity with Outlook (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Contribute or other web editing software
  • Proficiency in Moodle or other learning platform
