National Science in the Summer Program Director: The Franklin Institute

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

As a grant funded position, the National Science in the Summer (SIS) Program Director oversees the implementation of the national SIS program which provides free enrichment activities for students in grades two through six in their communities during the summertime. The SIS program is a signature effort of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) an important partnership program for The Franklin Institute. S/he will ensure successful implementation of the National SIS program in 25 cities across the country, facilitate the development of strong teams in each location through face-to-face events as well as ongoing, on-call support, work with curricula development team, supervise the local SIS program administrator, and act as a key liaison with the GSK team. S/he will also respond to internal requests for information & support, external requests for information, and will support media requests as well.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred in the field of education. 3-5 years of experience in program delivery is required. Experience with STEM education strongly preferred.

Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday – Friday 8:45am to 5:15pm
