Communications Manager: Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc

Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. is currently seeking a Communications Manager within the Administrative Division. The Communications Manager plans and executes initiatives designed to increase knowledge and favorable perception of Congreso and its services. These include internal and external communications, signature events, and community relations strategies.

The Communications Manager will work with Department and programmatic staff to obtain content for the purpose of creating internal and external communications, including press releases, brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and donor communications materials. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, detail-oriented, resourceful individual who enjoys a workplace that is fast-paced and varied. The Communications Manager position combines strong relationship-management skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to help the organization achieve its goals.

The Communications Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three+ years in marketing or PR required
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability in written, oral and persuasive communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven expertise in working effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of constituents: donors, funders, partners, staff, board, and community residents.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Copy writing and editing experience
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, CMS platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office is required
  • Proficiency in Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms
  • Event planning experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with opinion leaders, executive staff and constituents.

Minimum Education:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in communications, English, social work, or other related field of study. MA/MS degree preferred, but not required.
