The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc., located in Doylestown, PA has been in operation for over forty years. The primary purpose of The Council is to provide resources and opportunities to reduce the impact of addiction, trauma, and other related health issues.  This is accomplished through prevention, consultation, education, advocacy, assessment, intervention, and recovery support services. The Council consists of over 50 full and part time staff, and is supported by many volunteers.  Today, The Council is one of the most vital alcohol and drug prevention and intervention agencies in the Delaware Valley.

The Council serves the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia and operates three recovery community centers: the Women’s Recovery Community Center, the Philadelphia Recovery Community Center, and the Southern Bucks Recovery Community Center.  The Council provides a wide range of services to families, schools, businesses, individuals and the community at large, regardless of ability to pay, ethnicity, race, gender, age and/or sexual orientation.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Executive Director to promote The Council’s mission and values through demonstrated strategic leadership, strong personal conviction and a record of accomplishment in nonprofit management. The next Executive Director will be responsible for providing a vision for the organization’s growth and development, ensuring strong team management and the highest quality of service in each of the program areas, assuring the agency’s financial viability, building collaborative relationships and serving as the key spokesperson for The Council in the community.

To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:

  • Demonstrated success providing overall strategic leadership
  • Knowledge of services for addicted and recovering populations
  • Success in cultivating donors and enhancing revenue
  • Strong team management
  • Demonstrated financial and program oversight
  • Direct interface with a board of directors
  • Raising visibility through marketing & communications
  • Graduate degree in psychology, social work, public health, or related fields
