Director, Leadership and Advancement: Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Leadership and Advancement will lead the efforts of Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia (Philanthropy Network) to offer strategic leadership for regional initiatives, convene funder groups around areas of interest and support collective action, recruit new members, and identify resources to support key initiatives in greater Philadelphia.

  7. Duties
  • Convene and facilitate funder groups (also known as member affinity groups) with common areas of interest and cultivate collective action initiatives.
  • Work with the Executive Director to offer valuable leadership in cross-sector partnerships that create systems change.
  • Identify and pursue potential resource development opportunities aligned with Philanthropy Network’s leadership initiatives.
  • Work with the Philanthropy Network team to cultivate prospective members.
  • Assist the Executive Director with leading the Strategy and Leadership Committee.
  • Work with the Director of Knowledge Management and Learning to foster learning and development within and across funder groups.

  • Proven track record managing collaborative groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work effectively with a wide range of personalities and working styles.
  • Proven success in resource development.
  • Team player capable of working in an environment with overlapping roles focused on member engagement.
  • Highly adaptable and capable of managing deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Proven success working with diverse organizations, groups, and perspectives.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce™ is a plus.
  • Experience working with “Design Thinking” methodologies is a plus.
  1. Education & Experience
  • Master’s Degree in public administration, nonprofit management/leadership, business administration, or similar.
  • Five years of experience in related employment.
