Learning and Development Manager: Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is seeking a Learning and Development Manager. This newly created position will provide the overall vision and strategy for Longwood’s learning program, managing the execution and delivery of training programs in alignment with our strategic goals. Responsibilities include conducting needs analysis and creating and implementing action strategies to build learning programs across the organization. This individual will plan, design and develop education materials in alignment with Longwood’s brand, and will implement and facilitate training programs across the organization, developing tools to measure and evaluate effectiveness and impact. This position will collaborate with leadership staff in the design and development process to ensure programs are aligned with brand and culture, and with managers to assist with learning strategies for individual development plans. Position responsibilities also include identifying subject matter experts to assist with content development and delivery, organizing and conducting train the trainer sessions for in-house experts and trainers as needed.

We seek an individual who has demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced, highly creative and collaborative environment and across a multidisciplinary organization. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education or related field, with a minimum of five years’ experience designing, developing and implementing training programs. Must have the ability to apply instructional design and delivery to staff development and familiarity with e-learning platform and practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership and mentorship skills, and organizational skills. Professional certification such as the CPLP is a plus.
