Professional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive development leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, financial oversight, and strategic planning, preferably in a nonprofit/social impact-oriented setting.
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills with familiarity with nonprofit financial systems and operations.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Interest/experience in education or other nonprofit organizations sensitive to the needs of diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Revenue Generation Oversight:

  • Lead annual fundraising efforts for a minimum of $600,000, vital for CCSA’s financial stability.
  •  Drive the strategic $10 million Endowment Campaign, guiding the committee and ensuring successful major campaigns and events

Development Strategy Leadership & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Collaborate with the Board for comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with CCSA’s mission.
  •  Forge strong partnerships with CCSA School Leadership to secure funding and serve as the primary steward of major donors.Donor Engagement:
  • Cultivate major donors, drive new revenue, and oversee significant foundation applications ($20,000+).

Organization Leadership & Financial Management:

  • Articulate the school’s vision as the lead spokesperson, collaborating with the Board on key decisions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of financial obligations, utilizing efficient tools for accurate fund management

Board &Committee Engagement:

  • Collaborating and actively participating in Committee-related meetings, and providing essential support to both the School Board and Foundation Board.

Staff Management & Development:

  • Directly manage and develop Foundation staff, leading recruitment and championing professional development initiatives.
  • Stay updated on national charter school regulations, ensuring CCSA compliance.

Compensation:

$120,000 with competitive benefits in alignment with industry standards.

Organizational Information:

The Executive Director and Director of Development reports directly to the Board of Directors and collaborates closely with school leadership. The position oversees Foundation staff and works collaboratively with the Board of Directors and various committees.

CCSAF’s most recent 990 indicates total revenue of $3.5M of which roughly $1.8 million is comprised of contributions and grants.
